About Shiftgig

Shiftgig is a people-centered, on-demand labor marketplace that connects people to business shifts on a mobile device. The Shiftgig platform makes it easy for businesses to fill and manage part-time job assignments. For people looking for extra shifts, Shiftgig offers the freedom to work where, when and for which businesses they like.

From a worker’s (called Specialists) perspective, they are able to pick up the shifts that interest them. From a client’s perspective, Shiftgig is the smart, simple labor solution with powerful technology to find Specialists that are pre-qualified for the job based on their needs.

The Founding Story

Shiftgig was founded on the premise of building a networking community for service industry workers. In the past, people looking for service jobs were limited to searching Craigslist or directly inquiring business by business. Shiftgig eliminated that process by directly connecting workers to businesses through an on-demand mobile application. After seeing there was a demanding need for this type of service, Shiftgig changed its business model and successfully pivoted from a web-based business, connecting service industry individuals to restaurants for full and part-time jobs to a mobile-first, on-demand labor marketplace, connecting businesses with people for hourly work.
